This notice explains how Local Storage Quote collects and uses personal information. Local Storage Quote is a trading name of Expert Works Ltd (company number 16430223), which is the data controller. What we collect

Details you give us on our forms: your name, email address, phone number and postcode, and what you want to store (type, size, start date, how long and whether it's for personal or business use).
Request details: the distance you chose, which storage companies your request was sent to and the page you used.
Technical information: our hosting provider keeps standard server logs, such as IP address, browser type and the pages requested, to keep the site secure and working.

How we use it

To pass your storage request to storage companies. When you tick the consent box, we share your details with the storage companies matched to your request so they can contact you with prices. We rely on your consent for this.
To run and improve the service: sending you a copy of your request, handling questions and complaints, preventing spam and fraud, and understanding how the site is used. We rely on our legitimate interests for this.
To keep records we are legally required to keep, for example for tax and accounting.

We don't sell your details to anyone other than the storage companies matched to your request, and we don't use them for unrelated marketing.

Who we share it with

Storage companies matched to your request. Once they receive your details, they use them under their own privacy policies.
Service providers who help us run the site, such as website hosting and form handling, email and text message delivery. They only act on our instructions.
Map and font providers. Our maps load map images from OpenStreetMap, and our pages load fonts from Google Fonts. These services receive your IP address when your browser requests them.
Authorities where the law requires it.

Some of our service providers are based outside the UK, for example in the United States. Where your information is transferred outside the UK, we make sure appropriate safeguards are in place as required by UK data protection law.

How long we keep it

We keep enquiry details for up to 24 months after your request so we can deal with questions, complaints and billing disputes with storage companies, then delete them. Server logs are kept for a shorter period by our hosting provider.

Cookies

We don't use advertising or analytics cookies. If we add any in future, we will ask for your permission first and update this notice.

Your rights

You have the right to access your information, to have it corrected or deleted, to restrict or object to how we use it, and to data portability. Where we rely on consent you can withdraw it at any time by emailing us. This doesn't affect anything we did before you withdrew it, and you'll also need to contact any storage company that has already received your details if you no longer want to hear from them.
